Scilly with your dog

Build the trip around the practical details first, so you and your dog can enjoy the islands at an unhurried pace.

Before you book

  1. Confirm dog acceptance with your accommodation before paying for travel. Ask about charges, limits and areas where dogs cannot go.
  2. Book your dog with the travel operator and check route, crate and size requirements. Rules differ between ferry, Skybus and helicopter.
  3. Check the Council’s current dog-control rules and local signs. Keep clear of nesting wildlife and livestock; carry bags and water.

A day to make your own

Choose a walk near your accommodation for arrival day. Once you know how your dog copes with boats, add an off-island visit with a confirmed return sailing.

Keep an alternative ready

Keep a short local walk in reserve and ask venues directly whether dogs are allowed indoors.
