Who We Are

Isle of Scilly Compare is an independent travel information website. References to 'we', 'us' or 'our' in this policy refer to Isle of Scilly Compare.

Information We Collect

When you submit a contact form, your name, email and message are sent privately to our enquiry inbox using Base44's email service so we can reply. Enquiries do not subscribe you to marketing. When you submit a partner application, we collect the contact and business information you provide. Partner application details are retained so we can review, prepare and manage the listing. Card and payment details are collected and processed securely by Stripe and are not stored by this website.

Community Contributions

Correction reports, local questions, answers, contributor introductions, photo offers and business profile updates are stored privately in Base44 for administrator review. They are not published automatically. Your email remains private. Only separately approved public text, agreed credits and authorised business details are published. Photo publication rights and licence details are agreed before use. We may contact you to clarify your submission. These submissions do not subscribe you to marketing. Ask us through the contact page to correct or remove your contribution or private details.

Partner Measurement

For advertising reports we record public page paths, broad arrival-source categories, profile identifiers and action types with a timestamp. We do not store visitor names, emails, full referrer URLs, search parameters or persistent visitor identifiers in these measurement records. We do not set cookies or use browser storage for this measurement. Known administrator visits, previews and browser Do Not Track requests are excluded. Network addresses may be used temporarily in server memory to limit abuse but are not stored in measurement records. Public reports contain aggregate page counts; individual profile reports are administrator-only and shared with the relevant business on request. These counts are approximate activity, not unique people or bookings.

Cookies

This website may use standard analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site (e.g. which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, where they come from). Analytics can process usage and device identifiers. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Third-Party Links

This website contains links to third-party websites (such as official operator booking pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

Payments and Stripe

Paid partner subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Stripe may process payment details, billing information and identifiers needed to administer the subscription, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations. Stripe’s own privacy policy applies to that processing.

Data Retention

Contact enquiries are retained only as long as necessary to respond. Partner application and subscription records are retained while the listing or subscription is active and afterwards where reasonably required for accounting, dispute handling or legal compliance. We do not add applicants to unrelated marketing lists without consent.

Under UK GDPR, you have rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, please contact us via the contact page.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated 'last updated' date at the top of this page.
