Isles of Scilly Compare is an independent travel information resource for the Isles of Scilly. We compare the three ways to reach the islands — the Scillonian ferry, Skybus flights and the Penzance helicopter — covering journey times, luggage allowances, pet policies, seasonal availability and general pricing. We are not affiliated with any travel operator.
The Scillonian III passenger ferry sails from Penzance harbour to St Mary's, with a crossing of approximately 2 hours 45 minutes, operating seasonally (typically late March to early November). Skybus light aircraft fly from Land's End Airport, Newquay Cornwall Airport and Exeter Airport to St Mary's, with flight times from around 15 minutes (Land's End). A helicopter service operates year-round from a dedicated heliport in Penzance to St Mary's and Tresco, with a flight time of around 15–20 minutes.
