Three Ways to Reach St Mary's

St Mary's is the main island of the Isles of Scilly and the arrival point for all three mainland transport services. From St Mary's, you can explore the island itself or take tripper boats to the off-islands (Tresco, St Martin's, Bryher, and St Agnes). Choosing your route to St Mary's is the first decision in planning your Isles of Scilly trip.

Arriving in Hugh Town

Hugh Town is the main settlement on St Mary's and the hub from which you access everything else. The Scillonian ferry and helicopter arrive at St Mary's Quay, right in the heart of Hugh Town. Skybus arrives at the airport in the centre of the island — a short taxi or bus ride (approximately 10 minutes) takes you to Hugh Town.

From Hugh Town Quay, tripper boats depart daily to all four off-islands during the season. Check timetables on the day of arrival — departures depend on tides and demand.
