Travelling to Scilly with Your Dog

The Isles of Scilly are a wonderful destination for dog owners. The islands are compact and walkable, the coastal paths are spectacular, and dogs are welcomed at many beaches, pubs and accommodation providers. Getting there with your dog requires a little advance planning — not all transport options accept dogs, and booking is essential.

Dogs on the Islands

Once on the islands, dogs are generally well catered for. The coastal paths on all five islands are excellent for walking. Many local pubs and restaurants welcome dogs in outdoor areas. Some accommodation is dog-friendly — always check before booking.

Beach access for dogs varies by season and island. Some popular beaches operate seasonal dog bans on specific sections (typically May–September). Dogs are often permitted on less frequented parts of the same beach or at quieter times of year. Check locally on arrival for current rules.
